March 8th   Arrive in Beijing  (B, L ,D)
Arrive in Beijing in the early morning. Prior to checking into the hotel, we visit sites of the 2008 Olympic Games such as the Bird's Nest (outside) and the Water Cube (outside). After resting up, we visit the Summer Palace and a pearl factory
March 9th   Beijing  (B, L,SD)
After breakfast, we visit the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven. In the evening, we are treated to a famous Peking Duck Welcome Banquet.
March 10th   Beijing  (B, L, D)
Along the way to the Great Wall at Juyongguan, we stop by a jade factory. After exploring the Great Wall, lunch is served. We then return to the city for shopping followed by dinner and a Kung Fu show.
March 11th   Beijing /Yichang (B, L, SD)
The morning is free to take a Hutong Tour before our flight to Yichang.the cultural and economic center of the western Hubei Province. Upon arrival we board our cruise ship, the majestic VK, and settle in to our luxury cabin as the ship sets in the evening for our Yangtze River adventure.
March 12th   Yangtze River Cruise  (B, L, D)
This morning we arrive at Sandouping and disembark to visit the Three Gorges Dam site. Meet an engineer from the Three Gorges Dam project and learn about the construction of the world's largest hydroelectric dam. Originally envisioned by Dr. Sun Yat-Sen in 1919, this massive project aims to provide a new source of power for China. Return aboard the ship and sail through the intricate locks system. Today, we approach the spectacular Three Gorges and begin sailing through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles) and deepest of the three.
March 13th   Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
Disembark and board a smaller boat to traverse up a narrow tributary sailing through the dramatic Lesser Gorges. Return aboard the cruise ship and arrive at the elegant Wu Gorge, renowned for its vertical cliffs and 12 mist-shrouded mountains. Enter the final gorge, Qutang Gorge, the shortest (5 miles) but most impressive of the three.
March 14th   Yangtze River Cruise (B, L, D)
Disembark at the "ghost city" of Fengdu for a shore excursion. Explore this fascinating river town, decorated with temples and shrines dedicated to the gods of the underworld. Return aboard the ship for dinner and evening cruising.
March 15th   Arrive Chongqing/Shanghai /Suzhou (B, L, D)
Our Yangtze River journey comes to an end as we dock in Chongqing, a scenic cliff-side city that overlooks the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. After a brief city tour we board a flight to Shanghai and visit the beautiful city of Suzhou.
March 16th   Suzhou/Shanghai  (B, L, D)
Today we visit Suzhou, known for its delicate gardens. In Suzhou we visit Tiger Hill, the Lingerin Garden and Silk Factory #1 before returning to Shanghai.  After arrive in Shanghai, visit Old Shanghai District, Pearl TV Tower, Nanjing Road and the Bund
March 17th  Suzhou/Shanghai   (B, L)
Our tour ends up here today. We will be transferred to Pudong airport for our home flight or next destination.
